Schedule Management Plan
Scheduling standards
- All portfolio milestones must be traceable to a WBS element and owner
- Dependencies must be explicit (FS/SS/FF relationships where applicable)
- Critical milestones must have acceptance criteria and “definition of done”
- Dates are forecasted based on evidence (site readiness, approvals, procurement signals)
CPM methodology
- Critical path updated weekly
- Near-critical band tracked (≤ 10 working days total float)
- Float erosion flagged as early warning even if dates remain unchanged
Baselines & change control
- Baseline set post-planning gate; changes require impact narrative
- Any milestone movement affecting committed dates triggers Change Impact Analysis
- Re-baseline only when scope changes or assumptions materially shift
Cadence
- Weekly: IMS updates + critical path refresh + risk checks
- Bi-weekly: dependency closure review
- Monthly: executive dashboard + forecast confidence review
Escalation thresholds
- Committed date risk > 5% probability or > 10 working days slip forecast
- Total float drops below 5 working days on any critical milestone
- Dependency breaches: downstream start blocked with no approved recovery
